I need to uprgrade

The HP pavillion desktop that i have for almost a year now has 160 GB of hard drive which I reckon is not enough bec. my digital photos are eating a lot of space and just only 512 MB DDR2 of memory. My OS is Vista and it already requires 1GB of memory so I thought of upgrading.

Fortunately I have 3 slots for the memory cards so I added 2 memory cards (1GB each) and when I open other programs the performance is already good. Right now, I am doing a lot of graphics using my Photoshop CS3 and PSP8 and I reckon I need to have 3GB of memory. I just love Kingston products as they are durable. What about you have you upgraded yet?

Be Aware of Phising

Phishing sounds like "fishing" but it's not actually fishing for fish. It's fishing for passwords or your personal informations online. Sounds scary and i hope it will not happen to me.

According to webopedia.com it is the act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft. The e-mail directs the user to visit a website where they are asked to update personal information, such as passwords and credit card, social security, and bank account numbers, that the legitimate organization already has. The Web site, however, is bogus and set up only to steal the user’s information.

Phishing, also referred to as brand spoofing or carding, is a variation on “fishing,” the idea being that bait is thrown out with the hopes that while most will ignore the bait, some will be tempted into biting.

Routers

I am using Linksys router here at my internet cafe. It is actually a wireless, and according to Wikepedia A router is a device that determines the proper path for data to travel between different networks, and forwards data packets to the next device along this path. They connect networks together; a LAN to a WAN for example, to access the Internet. Some units, like the Cisco 1800 (pictured), are available in both wired and wireless models.

Shopping made easy

Have it crossed your minds that there will come a time that we no longer need to go out of our homes just to shop, buy our grocery, pay our bills and “window” shop because we can actually do it online? The Internet has evolved so much and it is actually making our lives a little bit easy especially for working moms or those with so hectic schedules. Shopping is just a click away from us now.

And sometimes have you ever thought how those online stores that you love actually made us shop conveniently at theirs stores? I know it is exciting how we put our chosen products on a shopping cart and make our way to check out. Online stores actually use shopping cart software that many companies are offering like AShop. This award winning software has actually made them popular among online store bec. of the easy customizable and easy set-up for store owners. It is web-based so you don’t need to be a techie to set it up, not only that they give full customer support while setting up your cart.

When I was still designing kits for an online digiscrapping store, I once dreamed of setting up my own lil’ store but things for me became busy so I set that aside for a while. Anyway I know if I will pursue that dream I’d choose AShop’s e-commerce tools for my store.

E- Jeepney In Makati

E-jeepney (electronic jeepney), the 1st in our country and in South East Asia was road tested in Makati yesterday. It runs using a battery that will be charged for 8 hours using 220V. There's no fuel needed so it is environment friendly. It is powered by 5 horsepower electric motor engine. It is a project of Green Peace and is supported by gov.t of Makati. It is only pricey and costs around Php400,000.00 - Php 100,000.00 per unit. Ordinary jeepney drivers cannot afford to buy these. If only the cost is lower i think many will buy and eventually the ordinary jeep will be replaced by this.
